Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering
About the role
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering position is based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. This role involves contributing to the advancement of research and education in modern computing systems, shaping the next generation of computing professionals, and conducting research in areas such as AI for Software Engineering, Software Engineering for AI, AI Application Engineering, Software Development Lifecycle, and Software Architectures.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to high-quality research outcomes
- Deliver engaging and innovative learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Conduct research and publish in high-impact scholarly outcomes
- Collaborate on collaborative research initiatives and contribute to the School's international reputation in Software Engineering
- Support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives
Requirements
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence
- Experience with industry or work-integrated learning (desirable)
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives
Qualifications
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development, and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
- Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement
- Experience in successfully recruiting and supervising high calibre students
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
- Demonstrated ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives
Skills
- An emerging or established academic with expertise in Software Engineering and a passion for both research and teaching
- Ability to contribute to high-quality research outcomes while delivering engaging and innovative learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence

Benefits
Salary range: AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation for Lecturer (Level B); AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation for Senior Lecturer (Level C)
