Lecturer Pool - Political Science and Global Affairs AY 2026/27
California State University San Marcos invites applications on an ongoing basis for part-time lecturer positions in the Department of Political Science and Global Affairs for the 2026/2027 academic year. Appointments may range from one day to a full semester and are used to fill short-term temporary vacancies as needed.
About the Role
The Department of Political Science and Global Affairs maintains a pool of qualified lecturers to address instructional needs throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool are valid only for the 2026/2027 academic year and will close on May 31st. Candidates wishing to be considered for the following academic year must reapply by June 15th.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field (minimum requirement).
- Terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field (preferred).
- Intercultural competence and a demonstrated commitment to serving the campus community through teaching and, where applicable, service.
Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, employment is contingent upon working in the State of California.
Pay
Salary is commensurate with education and experience, with an anticipated hiring range of $5,507 to $8,500 per full-time month. The following salary ranges apply (effective July 1, 2024):
- Lecturer A (Academic Year): $5,507 – $6,677 per full-time month.
- Lecturer B (Academic Year): $6,221 – $13,224 per full-time month.
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
