Lecturer of Film/Video Production
About the role
The Lecturer of Film/Video Production plays a crucial role in empowering the next generation of filmmakers at CU Denver. This position is at-will and teaching assignments are determined on a semester-by-semester basis. The Lecturer will teach Lighting, Grip and Sound, Cinematography, Producing, and/or Editing courses, guiding students through real-world projects to develop essential technical and artistic skills.
Responsibilities
- Guide students through real-world projects to develop essential technical and artistic skills.
- Mentor aspiring professionals and contribute to shaping a program known for its collegiality, creative innovation, and commitment to student growth.
- Teach one or two classes per semester (3-6 credit hours).
- Focus on Lighting, Grip and Sound, Cinematography, Producing, and/or Editing courses.
Requirements
- MFA or a BA with professional industry experience may be substituted for an MFA.
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere.
- Expertise with state-of-the-art camera and lighting equipment.
- 2 years of experience teaching at the high school or college level.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Lighting, Grip and Sound, Cinematography, Producing, and/or Editing.
- Ability to mentor and inspire students in a dynamic learning environment.
- The capacity to help shape the future of a growing program.

- Ability to weigh alternatives and apply creative and technical expertise to a teaching role.

Pay
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $5,371.19 per 3 credit course. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
Schedule
This position is part-time.
