About the role

The School of Management is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Management Information Systems (MIS) Lecturer to deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate and graduate students. This full-time, non-tenure track position focuses on bridging complex technological concepts with practical business applications, teaching core and elective MIS courses, and staying current with industry trends such as AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.

Responsibilities

  • Teach four courses per semester (4+4 load) across the academic year, including core courses (e.g., MIS 311 - Information Systems & Application, MGMT 500 - Management Information Systems) and specialized MIS electives.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures, assignments, and assessments that foster critical thinking and adapt to diverse learning styles.
  • Update course materials regularly to reflect advancements in technology and industry trends.
  • Hold regular office hours to provide individual student support.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the MIS program.
  • Support student teams in regional and national MIS case competitions.
  • Engage in professional development activities to maintain academic qualifications per AACSB accreditation guidelines (minimum three professional engagement activities over six years).

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in management information systems or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of professional experience in information technology, systems management, or a related industry role.
  • Record of teaching excellence at the collegiate level.
  • Ability to mentor students in extracurricular settings.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Management Information Systems or a related field.
  • Experience teaching large enrollment courses (125+ students).
  • Experience teaching in online or hybrid modalities.
  • Industry-recognized professional certification relevant to MIS.
