About the role

The School of Professional Studies invites part-time faculty candidates for Lecturer in Health Sciences. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of part-time faculty members at the University include teaching and professional activities as assigned. This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested part-time faculty as needed for the 2026-2027 academic year. Note that part-time faculty are assigned for one term at a time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course outlines and teach based on approved departmental syllabi
• Prepare and deliver consistent, interactive lectures
• Design and update course content as needed
• Prepare and administer timely and meaningful assessments for assigned courses
• Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met
• Be available outside of class to help students learn and answer their questions (1 hour per 3-hour class, physically and/or virtually)
• Adhere to UIW Faculty policies and procedures, including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course
• Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom
• Maintain contact with the academic affairs team and participate in meetings upon request
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Education: Graduate Instruction: Doctorate in Health Sciences or relevant field, or Doctorate in another discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in Health Sciences or relevant field. Undergraduate Instruction: Master's Degree in Health Sciences or relevant field, or Master's Degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in Health Sciences or relevant field.

Required Work Experience: At least one (1) year of successful teaching experience in health sciences or relevant field at the collegiate or university level with documentation of student evaluations. Note that one (1) year of experience in health sciences or relevant continuing education in health sciences will be considered in lieu of teaching experience.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Health Sciences or relevant field.

• Willingness and flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend sections as needed
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

Pay

Salary: $1,250 - $3,500 (based on student count)
