Lecturer, Emergency Medical Services-Paramedic Program

The Department of Allied Health Sciences is undergoing growth and renewal and seeks new faculty to contribute through teaching, research, and guidance in Emergency Medical Services-Paramedic.

About the role

The Assistant Professor will share responsibility for committee and department assignments, including administrative, supervisory, and other institutional functions. Faculty teach in classrooms, laboratories, and clinical sites. Research and publication are expected for tenure and promotion. Additional responsibilities include curriculum development, grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.

The qualified candidate must be available to work in either the Day or Evening/Weekend program as needed by the Department.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Emergency Medical Services-Paramedic in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings
• Engage in research and publication for tenure and promotion
• Develop and update curriculum
• Participate in departmental and college-wide committees and activities
• Contribute to grant writing, assessment, and faculty development initiatives
• Mentor student projects and provide academic advisement
• Perform administrative and supervisory duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Eight years of professional experience
• New York State Paramedic Certification
• Ability to teach successfully

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with teaching and learning technologies
• Experience teaching non-traditional urban college students
• National Registry Paramedic Certification
• NYS DOH BEMS Certified Instructor Coordinator (CIC)
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends as required

Pay

Salary range: $70,441 – $84,547, commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.
