About the role
The Leave Management Consultant plays a vital role in the administration of the full life cycle of various leaves of absence and leave-related ADA accommodation requests for University faculty and staff. This position acts as a subject matter expert and provides guidance to ensure the University remains compliant with federal and state laws, regulations, and applicable policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Administer the full life cycle of leaves of absence and ADA accommodation requests.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on leave management and compliance.
- Provide guidance to faculty and staff regarding leave policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and University policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) years of professional human resources experience in employee benefits, employee leave, or employee relations.
- Additional work experience may substitute for up to four (4) years of the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Skills
- Knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Knowledge of FMLA and ADA regulations.
- Skill in applying regulatory and legislative knowledge of FMLA and ADA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
