Leasing Internship
About the role
Since 1999, Red Tail Residential has been shaping community environments and refining living spaces with a focus on resident satisfaction. We manage various types of properties, from apartments to luxury living spaces, and we have resident programs that emphasize transparency, customer service, and technology.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the leasing and management team.
- Aid in data entry, file management, and maintaining accurate resident and leasing records.
- Assist with the preparation of leasing documents and move-in/move-out paperwork.
- Manage unit availability updates and internal tracking systems.
- Support the scheduling of appointments and coordination of move-in calendars.
- Respond to general inquiries via phone and email, directing requests as necessary.
- Support resident communication efforts and service request tracking.
- Participate in property tours and leasing activities as needed for exposure and learning.
- Contribute to market research and competitor analysis projects.
- Engage in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional administrative or operational duties as assigned.
Special Requirements
- Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
- Attendance & Schedule: Full-time schedule required for the duration of the internship (May 26 – July 31).
- Professional Expectations: Demonstrate punctuality, perfect attendance, and a positive attitude; be dependable, organized, and make good judgments; display initiative and the ability to learn; maintain a good working relationship with peers.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited program in Real Estate, Hospitality, or Property Management preferred. Sophomore year completed by start of Internship, preferred.
- Experience: Previous administrative, customer service, or office experience preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong organizational and administrative skills; excellent communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy; willingness to learn and take initiative; positive, professional attitude; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities; interest in property management, real estate, or business operations.
- Computer Skills: Basic to intermediate computer proficiency; familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
Benefits
The internship offers hands-on experience across leasing, operations, and resident services, giving insight into the day-to-day functions that drive a successful community. It is a 10-week paid internship in which the student will rotate through all aspects of Property Management at an assigned community, including Leasing, Assistant Manager, Manager, Maintenance, Operations, and Corporate (for select locations).
Schedule
Full-time schedule required for the duration of the internship (May 26 – July 31).
