Leasing Consultant

About the role

Middleburg is currently hiring an experienced Leasing Consultant to help manage the leasing process and assist with resident relations. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who enjoys helping customers, has a desire for excellence, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where no day is ever the same and strives to meet all goals.

Responsibilities

The Leasing Consultant will manage all aspects of the leasing process, including leasing apartments, maintaining lists of available apartments, responding to telephone inquiries, qualifying prospective residents, showing apartments to Company standards, and preparing all move-in paperwork. Other responsibilities include:

• Generating interest in the community by touring the property with prospects and answering questions about the amenities, local community, and other property details
• Maintaining market, demographic, economic, and community knowledge
• Conducting monthly telephone market surveys and bi-monthly physical shop
• Using the on-site property management software to track apartment availability, record traffic, and leasing activities
• Recommend programs and strategies to increase qualified traffic and closing ratios
• Promoting resident and business referrals and conducting outreach programs
• Developing and monitoring merchant/neighborhood referral programs for move-in packets, newsletters, and resident retention
• Telemarketing, cold-calling, setting appointments, and proactively contacting prospective businesses
• Following up with prospects and new residents to ensure satisfaction

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. One year of customer service or sales experience is required, with previous leasing experience being a plus. Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary, as well as basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
