Leasing Consultant

About the role

AvalonBay Communities, Inc., an equity REIT, seeks a dedicated and highly organized Leasing Consultant to join its extraordinary leasing team. This role involves daily operations and ensuring residents experience luxury living. Ideal candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in leasing or customer service, strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of fair housing laws, and a genuine desire to help both residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Create customized tours for prospective residents, focusing on the best floorplans and local amenities.
• Follow up with leads to ensure residents feel valued and informed about their options.
• Work Saturdays to handle high traffic times and engage with potential residents.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents to foster a sense of community and satisfaction.
• Use sales and marketing skills to generate excitement and enthusiasm for AvalonBay communities.
• Manage and update resident information efficiently to support a seamless living experience.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 1-2 years of experience in a leasing or customer service role, preferably in the real estate or property management industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of fair housing laws and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
