About the role
The Learning Support Tutor (LST) provides intervention and instruction to students who are not yet performing at grade level in reading or math. The LST works with individual students or small groups following a schedule and protocol provided by certified teachers and the school principal. The role also includes progress monitoring assessments and data entry.
Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted intervention and instruction in reading and math to individual students or small groups
- Follow instructional schedules and protocols established by certified teachers and the principal
- Conduct progress monitoring assessments (e.g., reading fluency and comprehension)
- Enter assessment data accurately
Requirements
- College degree (teaching certification preferred)
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of reading and writing skill-building strategies
- Knowledge of foundational math concepts
- Familiarity with progress monitoring measures
- Experience working with elementary students
Pay
Starting at $20.00 per hour
