Purpose of Job
Design and deliver global and local learning and development programs and manage learning systems and platforms to improve individual, team, and organizational performance that supports Sasol’s International Chemicals business plan.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver key Learning and Development initiatives (e.g. Operator, Maintenance and SHE training and qualification programs, Leadership Development Programs, Instructional Design, Learning Management System Administration, Curriculum Development, Training Plans, New Hire Onboarding Programs, etc.)
- Support the design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning and development products and services
- Utilize Instructional Systems Design techniques and Adult Learning Theory in the development of learning programs and projects (Instructional Design Specialists)
- Support the identification and development of skills, knowledge, and abilities for the organization
- Conduct learning needs assessments and analysis
- Aid in the development of organizational policies and procedures
- Design and develop instructional material utilizing design authoring tools and in line with departmental and global governance (Instructional Design Specialists)
- Provide audit support, HR learning reports, and data analysis to identify business issues and improve business performance
- Oversee the selection and performance reviews of 3rd party training vendors
- Research and recommend course design, technology, and instruction delivery options, to include the evaluation of emerging instructional technologies and methods
- Establish and maintain customer relationships and provide customer support
- Pursue personal and professional development
Formal Education/Working Experience
- University Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of Operations experience
- Associate’s Degree with 8+ years of Operations experience
Required Personal And Professional Skills
- Training delivery and facilitation experience in an adult learning setting
- Training content and curriculum development experience
- Project/Program management experience
- Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, facilitation, and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, prioritization and follow through skills
Petrochemical Industry Experience
Petrochemical industry experience preferred
Working Knowledge
- Working knowledge of regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.)
- Experience in Learning Management System Administration
- Proficiency in training development authoring tools (e.g. Articulate, In-Design)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
