Learning Specialist

About the role

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Office of Academic Excellence, in partnership with the Division of Undergraduate Education - College of Letters & Science, provides support to more than 650 student-athletes in 25 sports throughout the academic year and summer sessions. Our student-centered approach empowers student-athletes to maximize their academic potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising and support services to student-athletes
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement academic programs
• Assess student-athlete progress and provide feedback on academic performance
• Develop and maintain relationships with student-athletes to ensure they are aware of available resources
• Conduct research and analysis to inform academic support strategies

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, psychology, counseling)
• Experience working with college students and/or athletes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Qualifications

• Experience in academic advising and support services
• Knowledge of best practices in student-athlete academic support
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools

• $72,240.00 - $75,000.00 annually
