About the role

The role is based in-person in Springfield, MA with relocation assistance available. Annual compensation is $100,000, paid weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage is provided from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating one-hour life competency workshops covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and feedback exchange, adjusting delivery and energy for Pre-K through 8th grade audiences.
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions to review student progress in adaptive learning platforms (via Coachbot analytics), establish goals, and drive students to achieve 100% of weekly objectives.
  • Overseeing and assessing Test2Pass evaluations to verify genuine mastery of each life skill, ensuring completion reflects true understanding rather than mere participation.
  • Implementing focused interventions when students lag academically or in engagement—diagnosing underlying issues and creating targeted recovery strategies.
  • Cultivating authentic relationships with every student, establishing trust that allows you to guide them through resistance, distraction, and moments of self-doubt.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • 3+ years of direct experience with Pre-K through 8th grade students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership capacities).
  • Demonstrated experience motivating or coaching Pre-K–8 students toward academic, behavioral, athletic, or extracurricular objectives, with at least one concrete example you can articulate (including the goal, your specific actions, and the result achieved).
  • Willingness to embrace a coaching-focused model where all academic instruction is delivered by the learning platform. Your function is motivating and guiding, not teaching core content.
  • Daily usage of generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude).
  • Availability to work in-person at Alpha's Springfield, MA campus (relocation assistance provided).
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, camp leadership, or after-school programming where you held direct accountability for motivating children to achieve defined goals.
  • History of significant personal achievement (academic distinctions, competitive athletics, or leadership positions that demanded sustained excellence).
  • Innate storytelling skill: you can maintain the attention of Pre-K through 8th grade students for an hour without elevating your voice.
  • Proven ability to engage disengaged or resistant students and convert them into active, willing participants.
  • Experience supporting students who receive special education services.
