Key Responsibilities
- Leading and facilitating the successful completion of learning and development for new hires, existing team members, and other organizational stakeholders.
- Presenting, creating, and implementing new hire training, job enrichment training, and targeted refresher training.
- Facilitating on-the-job training, coaching, mentoring, and technical training, both in-person and virtually.
- Working closely with the leadership team to identify areas for improvement, such as training needs, knowledge management, process optimization, and curriculum development.
- Making independent decisions on what goes into training courses and curriculum.
Communication
- Scheduling and coordinating training classes in partnership with management team.
- Collaborating with team on projects and other assignments as needed.
Coaching/Mentoring
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert, Work Buddy, and resource, guiding and advising new hires and existing team members.
- Providing 1:1 coaching to learners and mentees as needed.
Content Creation
- Collaborating with team members across the department to develop, review, and deliver process documents and process change information.
- Developing, administering, and analyzing questionnaires, surveys, practice exercises, and pre/post-assessments to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
- Ensuring the quality and consistency of course content.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies, And/Or Related Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent insurance-related experience preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant industry experience based on departmental placement (claims, disability, etc.).
- Minimum three (3) years of running trainings sessions and developing learning programs preferred.
- Proven ability to manage different learning styles and interact with a diverse population.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Understanding of different learning styles (e.g., how to provide needed information to individuals).
- Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to adjust readily to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid change.
- Experience with a learning management system preferred.
- Strong technological acumen, ability to learn and utilize multiple Knowledge Management and Learning Management systems.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
