About the Role

The Learning Consultant at Ste. Genevieve Du Bois Catholic School supports students, teachers, and families by providing academic interventions, learning accommodations, and instructional support to help students reach their full potential. Working collaboratively with faculty and administration, the Learning Consultant assists in identifying and addressing diverse learning needs while promoting student success within a faith-filled Catholic educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Review educational records, assessments, and other relevant information to identify appropriate support strategies.
  • Develop and implement academic intervention plans and accommodations for students as needed.
  • Provide direct instructional support to individual students and small groups.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes.
  • Assist teachers in differentiating instruction and implementing best practices to support student learning.
  • Participate in meetings regarding student support, accommodations, and educational planning.
  • Serve as a resource for teachers regarding learning differences, instructional strategies, and classroom accommodations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and support plans.
  • Coordinate with outside service providers, specialists, and educational professionals when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with school policies and applicable regulations.
  • Support and model Catholic values and Christian behavior in all interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or school administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, School Counseling, Educational Psychology, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs preferred.
  • Knowledge of academic interventions, accommodations, and instructional support strategies.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

Skills

  • Knowledge of learning differences and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Ability to analyze student performance data and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
