About the role

Do you recognize when a student reaches 99% and refuse to accept anything less than completion? Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full academic day in approximately two hours using adaptive software. No classroom lectures. No traditional textbooks. Your role addresses what technology cannot: developing life skills in Pre-K through 8th grade students—public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange.

You will spend half your time facilitating hands-on workshops guided by structured playbooks and narrative techniques. The remaining half involves individual and small-group sessions where you examine student progress through Coachbot analytics in adaptive learning applications and drive them toward achieving 100% of weekly objectives. Mastery is demonstrated through Test2Pass assessments, not attendance-based grading.

This position is selective. During your first year, you will internalize the playbook: workshop facilitation, motivational coaching, mastery verification, and maintaining 100% goal completion standards for all students. Excel in these areas and advancement to Lead Guide becomes accessible. You must combine warmth, commanding presence, and uncompromising standards.

Responsibilities

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating one-hour life skill workshops covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and constructive feedback, adjusting your delivery and intensity across Pre-K–8 developmental stages.
• Conducting daily individual and small-group motivational sessions to examine student performance in adaptive learning platforms (via Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and drive 100% weekly target achievement.
• Administering and assessing Test2Pass evaluations to verify genuine life skill mastery rather than mere participation.
• Implementing focused interventions when students experience academic setbacks or engagement declines—identifying underlying issues and creating recovery strategies.
• Cultivating authentic connections with each student to establish trust sufficient for effective coaching through resistance, distraction, and confidence challenges.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Providing lectures or conventional academic instruction (core subjects are delivered through adaptive applications, not by you).
• Developing lesson plans or original curriculum (Alpha supplies life skills playbooks; your responsibility is dynamic execution through energy and narrative).
• Handling parent communications or administrative functions (Campus Leads manage these areas; you maintain focus on students).
• Evaluating homework or preparing students for standardized testing (these elements are absent from our model).
• Operating independently (you function within a campus team including Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability).

Learning Coach Key Responsibilities

• Guarantee that every student in your cohort develops enthusiasm for school, achieves mastery of critical life skills, and completes 100% of their academic objectives through adaptive learning software.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• 3+ years of direct experience with Pre-K–8 students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership capacities).
• Demonstrated experience motivating or coaching Pre-K–8 students toward academic, behavioral, athletic, or extracurricular objectives, with at least one concrete example you can articulate (the objective, your actions, and the result).
• Receptiveness to a coaching-exclusive model where academic instruction is delivered entirely through the learning platform. Your function is motivation and guidance, not core subject teaching.
• Daily application of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude).
• Availability for in-person work at Alpha's Springfield, MA campus (relocation assistance provided).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship requirements.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Background in youth sports coaching, camp leadership, or after-school programming where you held direct responsibility for motivating children toward defined goals.
• History of exceptional personal achievement (academic distinctions, competitive athletics, or leadership positions requiring sustained excellence).
• Innate storytelling capability: you can maintain Pre-K–8 student attention for an hour without volume escalation.
• Success engaging disengaged or resistant students and converting them into active contributors.
• Experience supporting students who receive special education services.

Schedule

This is a full-time, W2 employee position. All roles are year-long positions.
