Responsibilities
- Share Nemours Estate and its mission with the community, especially with patients and families.
- Assist with the delivery of engaging, educational, and fun programs in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
- Work with the Learning & Wellbeing Programs Supervisor and the Learning Programs Coordinator to facilitate adaptive and responsive models of museum education, especially within the Nemours Children’s Hospital, DE.
- Maintain high standards of programmatic delivery, including a commitment to building rich subject matter knowledge.
- Absorb and deliver regular Learning Programs offerings, under the guidance of the Learning Programs Coordinator, including:
- Nemours Estate activity carts (inpatient bedside and outpatient waiting rooms).
- Can Grow Garden programs
- Hospital school programs
- Virtual programs
- Assist with in-hospital holidays/events
- Third Thursday Estate activities
- Other programs as needed
- Responsible for the maintenance of essential health and safety standards in all programs, as required by Nemours Children’s Health.
- Serve visitors from diverse populations with developmentally meaningful programming in a courteous and professional manner.
- Strong ability to work independently.
- Must possess sound judgement and ability to work in sometimes stressful situations, working with a wide variety of personalities.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively, especially with hospital staff.
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor Degree in History, Museum Studies, Horticulture, Arts, Education, Special Education, or Child Development is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children required.
- Background or interest in history, horticulture, or the arts preferred.
- Experience working at a historic property, museum or public gardens is a plus.
- Spanish language skills are preferred.
- Experience working with the disabled is preferred.
