Your impact

Your impact As a Lean Specialist, you’ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design-build project delivery. We are looking for a passionate Lean Leader who is driven by collaboration, exceeding expectations, and challenging the status quo.

Responsibilities

  • Train internal staff, vendors, and trade partners on Lean and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement activities for a variety of Life Science projects located in the U.S.
  • Aid Project Management teams in implementing strategies for design, procurement, construction, and CQV phases of projects
  • Coordinate lean processes with initiatives such as safety, digital delivery, offsite fabrication, and modularization, and IPD strategies
  • Assist the team in standing up the Last Planner System® including facilitation of the various LPS elements
  • Manage the LPS software, including training Jacobs personnel and trade partners to utilize the selected collaboration software
  • Aid the team with visual management, 5S, and other construction-related lean processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or construction management is desired
  • 5+ years of experience in the design and/or construction industry with an emphasis in a varied range of complex manufacturing, life science environments, or EPCM projects
  • Proficiency in the implementation of Last Planner System® is required; knowledge of 5S, and other continuous improvement methodologies is desirable

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in engineering, preconstruction, and/or construction management
  • LCI Certified Practitioner-Construction is desired, but not required
  • Experience with vPlanner, Touchplan, or other similar LPS software is preferred
  • Cumulative computer skills to include MS Word and Excel are required
  • Strong writing skills, negotiation skills, and communication and interpersonal skills are required

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
