Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day production activities for our marine engine production team Ensure production schedules, takt time targets, and customer delivery requirements are consistently met. Maintain real-time visibility of work-in-process, bottlenecks, and throughput.
- Leverage Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead kaizen events, root-cause problem solving, and waste-reduction initiatives. Implement and sustain lean tools such as 5S, standard work, visual management, and value stream mapping. Monitor KPIs and drive actions to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, coach, and develop production team members. Conduct performance evaluations and support skill-building and cross-training. Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Quality & Safety: Ensure compliance with all safety policies and regulatory requirements. Address non-conformances and implement corrective actions. Promote a zero-defect mindset and safe work environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Quality to resolve issues and optimize flow. Participate in planning meetings to align capacity, staffing, and material needs. Communicate production status, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
Qualifications
- Required: Experience in manufacturing supervision or team leadership. Strong understanding of internal combustion engines: how they work, components. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles. Ability to lead teams and manage performance. Strong communication and organizational skills.
- PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Automotive, Mechanical Engineering or similar. Background in automotive, aerospace, industrial, or low-volume/high-complexity manufacturing. Experience with value stream mapping or managing end-to-end production flow. Lean or Six Sigma certifications.
