Leak Detection Monitoring Tech I - Industrial Services

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Perform routine, scheduled inspections of components (valves, connectors, pumps, tanks) to detect leaks of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain analyzers (e.g., Flame Ionization Detectors - FID).
• Record inspection data, tag leaking components, and manage inventory within databases like LeakDAS, GuideWare, SkyBridge.
• Adhere to environmental regulations (e.g., 40 CFR Subpart 60) and strict site safety protocols.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) - required or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting & Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) (preferred).
• Confined space entry & 40 Hour OSHA Training (preferred).
• Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations (preferred).
• Strong mechanical ability.
• Ability to wear protective clothing or equipment, including Nomex coveralls, a back belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask & escape pack, and a hard hat.
• Physical stamina: Ability to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, climb ladders/scaffolding (sometimes up to 300 ft), and lift up to 50 lbs.
