Leadership (Mentoring) Instructor

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Leadership (Mentoring) Instructor to lead engaging after-school programs that help students develop confidence, communication, teamwork, and positive decision-making skills. As the instructor, you will create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can strengthen leadership abilities through interactive activities, group discussions, team-building exercises, community-focused projects, and hands-on learning experiences. The ideal candidate enjoys mentoring youth, serving as a positive role model, and helping students build the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Schedule

Grades 1-6
Dates: August 13, 2026 – September 18, 2026
Days: Monday – Friday
Time: 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Grades 7-8
Dates: August 13, 2026 – September 18, 2026
Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Time: 2:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead age-appropriate leadership and mentoring activities.
  • Foster confidence, teamwork, communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Encourage students to demonstrate responsibility, respect, and positive character.
  • Facilitate engaging discussions, team challenges, and leadership projects.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Supervise students throughout the program and ensure their well-being.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and program coordinators.
  • Arrive prepared with organized lesson plans and materials.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or teens in educational, recreational, mentoring, or youth development settings preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Reliable, organized, patient, and enthusiastic.
  • Passion for helping young people develop leadership and life skills.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • 3 years of mentoring experience (Required).
  • 2 years of experience working with children (Required).
  • Ability to commute to Visalia, CA 93279 (Required).
