About the role

The Coordinator (Wellbeing Leader) at Long Street PS (Whyalla) is responsible for promoting a positive school culture and supporting student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance student wellbeing and mental health
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to support students’ social and emotional needs
• Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff on wellbeing topics
• Assess and monitor student wellbeing data to inform interventions
• Provide guidance and support to students experiencing personal challenges

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in education or a related field
• Experience in managing student wellbeing programs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders

Qualifications

• Current registration with relevant professional body (e.g., Australian Psychological Society)
• Knowledge of child and adolescent psychology
• Understanding of trauma-informed care principles

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
