About the role
The Coordinator (Wellbeing Leader) at Long Street PS (Whyalla) is responsible for promoting a positive school culture and supporting student wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student wellbeing and mental health
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to support students’ social and emotional needs
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff on wellbeing topics
- Assess and monitor student wellbeing data to inform interventions
- Provide guidance and support to students experiencing personal challenges
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in education or a related field
- Experience in managing student wellbeing programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
Qualifications
- Current registration with relevant professional body (e.g., Australian Psychological Society)
- Knowledge of child and adolescent psychology
- Understanding of trauma-informed care principles
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
