About the role
The Senior School Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the academic and pastoral care of students in the senior years at Penola High School. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance student engagement, support student wellbeing, and manage student behaviour effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and academic performance
- Provide pastoral care and support to students, including addressing individual needs and concerns
- Manage and maintain a safe and conducive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the holistic development of students
- Conduct regular reviews of student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents
- Manage student behaviour through positive reinforcement and appropriate interventions
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and events to promote a positive school culture
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- At least 5 years of relevant teaching or leadership experience in secondary education
- Proven ability to manage and motivate students
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Experience in student behaviour management and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies governing student welfare and education
Qualifications
- Current teacher registration or equivalent qualification
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
Schedule
Full-time position, 38 hours per week
