About the role

The ideal candidate will lead the design and analysis of hydraulic structures, conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, perform floodplain mapping and flood risk assessments, develop and review technical reports, designs, and specifications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and analysis of hydraulic structures, including channels, culverts, spillways, and stormwater management systems.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM).
  • Perform floodplain mapping and flood risk assessments.
  • Develop and review technical reports, designs, and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and ensure quality control.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Water Resources Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hydraulic and hydrology engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and GIS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering.
