Position Summary
C.H. Robinson is seeking a Lead Warehouse Associate to train, coach, and oversee the warehouse team. Key responsibilities include ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading, implementing process enhancements, and resolving issues. This role requires a dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-minded individual capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Support warehouse supervisory team in adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensuring their implementation
- Assist warehouse team in utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS), including training and troubleshooting, to maintain efficient warehouse organization
- Receive goods from customers and suppliers by offloading and loading vehicles, checking paperwork, weighing, measuring, and reporting discrepancies or damages
- Operate stand-up, sit-down forklifts, and hand jacks for palletization, stretch wrapping, and banding of cargo
- Load and unload trailers/ocean containers in a professional and damage-free manner
- Prepare outbound loads by matching paperwork, labeling, and handling Unit Load Device (ULD) preparation
- Sign off Bills of Lading accurately, verifying counts and damages
- Stage cargo within the warehouse safely and orderly
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization standards through general housekeeping
- Contribute to the development of new SOPs related to new business, products, or process changes
- Execute Dock-to-Stock procedures and regulations at all times, maintaining building perimeter security and challenging anything or anyone untoward
- Handle bonded import freight into the External Temporary Storage (ERTS) facility in accordance with regulations and breakdown of inbound ULD’s as required
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum 2 years of previous warehouse operations experience
- Possess good physical stamina and coordination
- Could be required to stand and/or walk for long periods daily while frequently bending, twisting, reaching, and periodically lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Certified forklift operator
- Completion of weekly bond checks
- Ability to work flexible hours and days
Preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with Bills of Lading, Shipping Manifests, Delivery Orders, etc.
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to speak Spanish
