Lead Veterinary Technician - Emergency

About the role

CARE Veterinary Center is seeking a full-time Lead Veterinary Technician to join their Overnight Emergency team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Frederick, MD. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced 24/7 emergency environment
• Serve as a clinical resource for the overnight team
• Manage hands-on emergency and critical care tasks including triage, diagnostic testing, and treatment support
• Oversight of patient flow, managing admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care
• Display strong anesthesia skills (obtaining Blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02)
• Work with a positive attitude and self-motivate
• Show excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care)
• CVT/RVT/LVT certification (active and current) strongly preferred
• Advanced technical skills
• 1-2 years of leadership experience (in a veterinary clinic setting) strongly preferred but not required

Pay

The actual compensation will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. An expected starting range of $26 – $32 / hour is offered, with an overnight differential available.

Schedule

Full-time position working 24/7 shifts.
