Responsibilities
- Support the delivery and execution of project scope, objectives, and requirements, ensuring close collaboration and alignment with clients and stakeholders.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Ensure project deliverables meet high-quality standards and specified requirements.
- Implement rigorous quality review processes, manage version controls, and track comments and resolutions.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project progress statuses using reporting tools and dashboards.
- Maintain and meet defined performance metrics, tracking budget, time, scope, and communication details to ensure projects meet schedule and client expectations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and relevant standards.
- Lead and direct multi-disciplinary project teams, including internal staff, sub-consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Foster a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability.
- Manage internal groups or outside vendors to identify, plan, negotiate contracts, deliver, and monitor performance to client specifications.
- Congratulate and coordinate with various internal and external partners, including cross-discipline and functional teams, government agencies (i.e., DOTs), and other stakeholders.
- Comfortably present complex technical and project information to diverse audiences, including executives, client teams, and public forums.
- Contribute to and potentially lead the development of technical proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work.
- Foster technical development and mentoring of staff.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Transportation/Traffic Engineering, preferred, or equivalent years of experience.
- 7-10 years of post-education, progressive experience in traffic signal design, ITS, Safety, Active Transportation and Complete Streets.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Connecticut or Rhode Island, or another state and able to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
- PTOE certification (highly preferred).
- Proven experience managing projects with budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
- Proven experience with CTDOT, RIDOT, and other regional agencies.
- Develop opportunities, manage client relationships, and prepare and proposals.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
- Exceptional communication abilities include written, verbal, and public speaking.
- Demonstrated success in proposal writing, client presentations, and strategic project delivery.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Passion for innovation, quality, and financial performance.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in civil engineering.
- Active engagement in relevant industry organizations.
- Project experience - Traffic operations and safety, signal design, signal timing, Bridge and Interstate Reconstruction, Environmental Impact Statements.
- Expertise in traffic engineering principles & practices, including Traffic signal design and wiring, traffic modeling (HCS, Synchro, Vissim), AutoCAD, MicroStation.
- CTDOT and RIDOT project delivery process.

Pay
$110,000 - $165,000
