Lead Test Automation Engineer

About the role

Capgemini is currently looking for a Lead Test Automation Engineer to join a growing team supporting a large enterprise environment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys staying close to the technology while also leading testing efforts, mentoring team members, and working directly with business and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and backend testing
• Lead QA initiatives and support cross-functional teams in developing and executing test plans
• Mentor team members and provide guidance on best practices in test automation
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure testing aligns with business objectives
• Support performance testing efforts as needed
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to test planning, estimation, reporting, and stakeholder communication

Requirements

• 8+ years of QA and Test Automation experience
• Strong hands-on Java development skills
• 4+ years of Selenium automation experience
• 2+ years of Appium mobile automation experience
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
• API testing experience using tools such as REST Assured or Postman
• SQL and database validation experience
• Experience leading QA or Automation teams
• Experience with JIRA or similar tools

Qualifications

• Nice to have: Playwright, Mabl, Insurance or Financial Services experience, Performance testing experience
