About the role
The Lead Teller role at National Bank of Commerce combines the responsibilities of both a Lead Teller and a Universal Banker. This position will float between both Bemidji branches as needed across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
- Guides a high-performing team and oversees teller performance
- Coaches staff to strengthen customer relationships, deepen product knowledge, and execute the branch's customer experience strategy
- Serves as a resource for escalated customer interactions, models professionalism under pressure, and ensures teller team is equipped for accurate, efficient, and friendly service
- Maintains the integrity of branch operations through managing cash controls and audits; approving overrides and exceptions; and safeguarding cash, systems, and vault access
- Plays a key role in fraud prevention, operational accuracy, and branch readiness
- Combines responsibilities of a Personal Banker and Teller, and flexes between opening new accounts, originating consumer loans, providing product guidance, and performing teller transactions
- Maintains accurate cash handling practices, completes required training on time, and takes ownership of customer issues
- Supports branch sales goals and provides backup coverage for both teller and banker functions as needed
- Delivers exceptional customer service and operational excellence by building strong, long-term customer relationships
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of banking experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of banking products and services
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, contingent on relevant skills, training, experience, education and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Schedule
This position will float between both Bemidji branches as needed across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
