Lead Teller

About the role

Able to competently perform all teller duties without supervision. Motivates and trains less‑experienced tellers.

Responsibilities

• Cash and deposit checks for members in accordance with Credit Union operating procedures; disburse cash by withdrawals and cash advances after obtaining proper identification.
• Make withdrawals by cashier’s checks, take payments, and process transfers as requested by members.
• Cross‑sell all RRCU services, answer phones, and assist members with questions about member services.
• Make wise decisions based on thorough knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures.
• Balance cash drawer daily and remain alert to needed address changes.
• Secure personal negotiables until they are signed over to the designated employee.
• Detect and avoid possible fraudulent activity by staying alert to warnings of fraud.
• Balance ATMs, post night deposits, and verify vault currency and cash shipments.
• Open new membership and other account types (cross‑trained).
• Issue ATM cards and reorder checks.
• Assist in balancing the cash dispenser when necessary.
• Motivate and coach other tellers as needed.
• Adhere to all Red River Employees Federal Credit Union policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of teller experience with a financial institution.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Competent computer skills and ability to use standard office equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to meet, speak, and deal effectively with people while maintaining professionalism.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
• Physical ability to lift heavy bags of coin, stand for long periods, and operate standard teller equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
