About the Role
Manage a cash drawer and balance it daily according to teller performance standards while maintaining accurate records of money, official checks, and gift cards involved in customer transactions. Provide exemplary customer service, staff training, supervision, and coaching for the branch teller team.
Responsibilities
- Execute PREMIER customer service by greeting customers promptly, processing transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining confidentiality, and understanding the features and benefits of First PREMIER Bank’s products and services.
- Partner with the Branch Manager to coordinate staff schedules, workflow, and ensure effective operation of all parts of the branch, including consistent PREMIER customer service standards. Perform branch opening and closing duties independently.
- Follow mandatory procedures to ensure work meets quality standards and adheres to external regulatory and internal codes of conduct.
- Monitor security procedures, including communicating alerts, key assignments, dual control for keys/combinations, cash audits, updating notification lists, training, alarm code assignments, and responding to branch alarms.
- Process transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, cashed checks, Savings Bonds, and receipt of payments (loans, credit cards, credit lines).
- Review transaction override requests for accuracy and perform overrides as needed.
- Assign and oversee Vault, drawer, and TCR (Teller Cash Recycler) responsibilities.
- Review account information, assist customers and tellers with complex problems or questions, and keep customer information current using internal systems.
- Interview, hire, and train new staff. Provide constructive and timely performance reviews. Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of cash handling or related experience is required.
- Supervisory or management experience is preferred.
- Basic computer skills, customer service, and/or banking experience is preferred.
