About the Role
This position involves supervising associates, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining quality and safety standards in assigned areas. You will participate in hiring, training, and evaluating associates, as well as managing landscape operations and seasonal maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise associates by assigning duties, communicating goals, providing feedback, and monitoring performance.
- Teach and support company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
- Participate in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, job shadowing, technician certification, and evaluation of associates.
- Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring equipment, tools, and supplies are in proper working order.
- Train associates on Logistics and company policies, and monitor compliance.
- Distribute and maintain procedures and supporting documentation.
- Assign and support work activities to ensure compliance with external regulations (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT).
- Serve as an expert in landscape management, maintaining garden beds, containers, and landscape plants.
- Leverage technology (e.g., phones, tablets, laptops) to complete work orders and maintain records.
- Perform landscaping tasks such as cutting grass, weed management, raking leaves, and applying planting/pruning techniques.
- Identify and resolve pest and disease issues through chemical applications.
- Operate heavy machinery and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Provide customer service by communicating with facility users and resolving problems or complaints.
- Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management.
- Evaluate current and future replacement needs (e.g., mulch, rocks, trees, shrubs, sod).
- Implement upgrades to convert facilities into sustainable units and explore cost-saving improvements.
- Coordinate with Home Office support to standardize equipment and reduce on-hand stock.
- Source tools and equipment for repairs and ensure completed work meets quality and safety requirements.
- Prepare and execute budgets, develop cost estimates, and approve purchases of parts, materials, and supplies.
- Maintain vehicles in working mechanical and cleanliness condition, including coordinating maintenance and submitting invoices.
- Safely operate motor vehicles, ensuring all required documents are present and conducting pre-operation checks.
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
- Lead and participate in teams, collaborating to meet business needs and improve processes.
- Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies, ethics, and integrity.

Requirements
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three years.
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years (if driving a commercial motor vehicle).
- No serious or preventable traffic violations in the last 3 years (if operating a commercial motor vehicle).
- Ability to read and speak English (as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations).
- Ability to successfully complete a DOT physical and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card for at least 90 days.
- 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in horticulture or a related field.
- Certified nursery and/or landscape professional.
- Experience as a landscaping/gardening crew leader or supervisor.
- Experience using intermediate-level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- State/local licensing where required (e.g., Florida, Texas, California).

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may apply in specific circumstances, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour.
