About the role

As the Lead Technical Writer, you will create and update US and global instructions for use and labeling for regulated medical device products. This role operates as both a senior-level individual contributor and a labeling leader, leading labeling projects, mentoring other writers, supporting audits and regulatory submissions, and ensuring labeling is compliant and effective.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage groups of technical writers and/or project teams for labeling projects, including coordination with regulatory, compliance, quality, engineering, and marketing teams.
  • Provide labeling support for assigned projects and interface with business groups to resolve labeling concerns.
  • Assist the Technical Writing manager with resource allocation, conduct meetings, and support the technical writing team.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with internal and external partners, providing influence over projects and peer groups while demonstrating a full understanding of engineering specialization within the medical devices sector.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in medical device labeling.
  • Proficiency with attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with using AI and/or developing or managing AI agents for technical writing-related tasks (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Writing, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet the minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.
  • Must reside in or within commuting distance to New Kensington, PA.
  • US work authorization is required; the company will not sponsor work-authorized visas now or in the future.

Pay

The pay range for this position in New Kensington, PA is $117,000 to $186,000. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include an annual incentive bonus, sales commission, or long-term incentives.

Schedule

This is an office-based role requiring full-time in-person presence at the company’s facilities in New Kensington, PA, at least 3 days per week.
