About the role
We are seeking a high-trajectory Lead Technical Recruiter to join as our founding technical recruiting pillar. This is a unique Player-Coach opportunity designed for a results-driven technical recruiter who wants to remain hands-on closing complex roles today, while explicitly scaling into talent leadership tomorrow.
Responsibilities
- Own the Founding Technical Recruiting Blueprint: Design and execute the end-to-end technical hiring strategy, building the playbook for how Carrum identifies, vets, and closes high-quality technical talent.
- Player-Coach Transition: Start by rolling up your sleeves to personally drive full-cycle execution for our most complex tech roles. Over the next 6–12 months, transition into a leadership role, managing, tracking performance, and mentoring the existing recruiting and operations team.
- High-Velocity Full-Cycle Execution: Treat the candidate journey like a production pipeline—fast, reliable, and automated where possible. Maintain a high volume of active candidates while ensuring an elite candidate experience where no one sits in a stage for more than 48 hours.
- Creative & Inclusive Sourcing: Utilize advanced sourcing techniques to attract and engage high-quality, diverse technical talent. Act as a strategic "scout" by mapping AI hubs and donor companies to proactively hunt high-conviction, diverse pipelines of technical talent.
- Data-Driven Funnel Optimization: Provide weekly "Funnel Health" reports directly to leadership. Build rigorous tracking systems that eliminate the "black hole" of recruiting, identifying bottlenecks in conversion and pivoting our technical sourcing strategy in real-time.
- Strategic Talent Advisor: Partner directly with technical leadership to proactively evaluate their current team structures and project where they need to grow as we scale. Move beyond a "ticket-taker" recruiter to use market data and consultative insights to help leadership architect their future technical organizations.
- Strategic Mission Narrative: Develop a profound understanding of Carrum’s value-based care model and business goals to effectively pitch our vision and sell high-quality technical talent on our long-term impact.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience doing technical recruiting, preferably with 3+ years in a high-growth startup environment where you had to build processes from scratch.
- A passion for mentorship, team performance management, and organizational design, and a readiness to earn a Head of TA title through proven execution.
- An obsession with funnel optimization, living and breathing Interview-to-Offer ratios and Candidate NPS.
- An understanding of the nuances between a Data Engineer and a Data Scientist, and the ability to spot the difference between a "check-the-box" coder and a true product innovator.
- The ability to articulate our value-based care mission to a Senior AI Engineer with infectious enthusiasm, selling candidates on our long-term societal impact.
- The capability to leverage AI-driven sourcing and automated workflows to eliminate the mundane, ensuring our hiring engine runs lean while focusing on high-value human conversion.
Qualifications
- Experience with advanced sourcing techniques to attract and engage high-quality, diverse technical talent.
- Proven ability to optimize the technical recruiting funnel and provide actionable insights to leadership.
