Lead Technical Architect, Converged Packet Optical(#1284)
About the Role
As a Lead Technical Architect in the Service Provider Group (SPG), you will be the Post Sales practice lead for our Converged Packet and Optical Technology focus area. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert responsible for leading and mentoring teams of pre- and post-sales engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Engineers, Sr. Engineers, Consultants, Sr. Consultants, and Architects.
- Research, design, and develop repeatable solutions to support applicable customer architecture needs.
- Act as an escalation point for Engineers, Sr. Engineers, Consultants, Sr. Consultants, and Architects.
- Work with internal management and strategy teams on development and delivery of relevant solution bundles.
- Engage applicable manufacturers and their engineering resources for design assistance and lab access.
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to drive ePlus sales of applicable technology.
- Meet with key vendors to stay current on products and technologies.
- Maintain major vendor certifications (Cisco/Juniper/Ciena/Nokia).
- Work on achieving additional relevant certifications that would benefit the Architect role.
- Collaborate with the Services Director and the National Practice Leads to develop standardized assessment, delivery, and testing documentation for nationwide use.
- Serve customer and account needs to ePlus standards.
- Perform additional relevant tasks as required.
- Conduct business in a professional, competent, and ethical manner.
- Adhere to corporate policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on Service Provider experience.
- 5+ years of experience performing in a Consultant or Architect role.
- Multiple industry-recognized certifications, e.g., CCIE, JNCIE, SRA, NRS II.
- Fully knowledgeable and able to design, plan, implement, and support Service Provider solutions using three or more of the following technologies:
- Cisco/Nokia/Ciena Transport Systems
- Cisco/Nokia/Ciena/Arista Routing Systems
- Networking (BGP/MPLS/IGP)
- DWDM/ROADM
- NetDevOps Automation
- Excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in-person.
- Excellent presentation and documentation skills.
- Thorough business understanding including costing, P&L, and pricing.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to think and develop solutions quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Pay
The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $125,000 and $170,000 annually. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the compensation package may include commissions, discretionary bonuses, and other components.
