Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Operations Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Operations function.

Pay

Anticipated hourly range: $26.00 - $42.53 per hour based on experience (includes shift differential). The hourly range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills, and an evaluation of internal pay equity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain operational readiness of the AutoStore (AS) and SLAM at fully automated locations.
  • Inventory and account for repair parts for the AS and SLAM.
  • Order repair parts for the AS and SLAM as they are consumed.
  • Protect and improve the value of Cardinal’s assets and ensure that ASRS and all supply line distribution equipment and systems, including PSI, continue to perform their intended functions.
  • Implement and manage the reliability-based maintenance function, including executing equipment inspection and monitoring programs, defining and implementing maintenance best practices, and continuously evaluating current maintenance, operations, and reliability methods.
  • Monitor operation and maintain ASRS equipment (robots, conveyors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment); review logs to assure proper operation and report any problems or malfunctions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as required per manufacturing standards and frequencies, utilizing a CMMS.
  • Oversee repairs and preventive maintenance (PMs) of ASRS equipment and implement frequency of repair and/or PM per manufacturer recommendations, standards, and warranty compliance.
  • Ensure availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate the ASRS and all associated automation, including PSI.
  • Oversee activities of contractors working on operational demonstrations or training sessions within the ASRS distribution work and the SLAM line.

Applies extensive knowledge and company policies to complete a wide range of assignments. Demonstrates expert understanding of all levels of the job family and has thorough knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility. Takes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills. May provide technical guidance and training to others. Maintains appropriate licenses, training, and certifications. Works on complex problems requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative. Makes recommendations for new or revised processes and plays a role in implementation. Adheres to all quality guidelines. Works with minimal supervision and has latitude to make decisions in exceptional circumstances within established guidelines. Provides guidance to less experienced team members and may have team leader responsibilities without formal supervision.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working with commercial operating systems and general maintenance procedures (preferred).
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
  • 2+ years of work order management (preferred).
  • Experience with electrical and electronic principles and industrial electronics.
  • Able to complete training to become a PSI SLAM Line and Swisslog Super User, including:
    • Ability to manually move robots and bins throughout the system.
    • Rescue robots from the grid.
    • Access, identify, diagnose, and resolve system issues using the AutoStore portal.
    • Make repairs and adjustments to the system (robots, ports, etc.) using the AutoStore portal.
    • Open tickets with PSI and Swisslog global helpdesk and help troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience with Java, Microsoft, and C++ (preferred).
  • High familiarity with AutoStore Console (ASC) (preferred).
