Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans using the Wonder of Learning® curriculum to spark curiosity and support holistic growth.
- Build a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and positive interactions.
- Foster strong partnerships with families through regular updates, conferences, and collaborative goal-setting.
- Ensure top-tier supervision during all activities, adhering to licensing standards and promoting wellness for every child.
- Engage in continuous professional development through workshops, peer collaboration, and school-supported certifications.
- Thoughtfully observe and document progress, using insights to tailor experiences and celebrate milestones with families.
- Mentor assistant teachers, promote a positive team dynamic, and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
- Apply evidence-based strategies to nurture social-emotional skills, resolving conflicts with empathy and expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field strongly preferred (Associate’s degree minimum plus experience considered).
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential also considered.
- At least 2 years of lead teaching experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting, with a proven track record of innovative instruction.
- Completion of state-required pre-service training and ongoing professional development.
- Exceptional communication skills to build relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Physical ability to actively engage with children, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Genuine passion for early education, with energy, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.
