About the role

Under the supervision of the School Leader, is responsible for the total classroom operation per Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and is responsible for leading the classroom while collaborating with the Teaching Assistant in planning and execution of daily classroom activities.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Implements and is responsible for using agency-wide curriculum as well as the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), program assessment, and service plans.
• Administer Ages and Stages Questionnaires for initial developmental screening.
• Utilize Curriculum software to track each child’s ongoing developmental skill level in the domains as required by the HSPPS.
• Utilize CAP-selected classroom support model to assist with classroom management.
• Work cooperatively with all CAP employees, Family Support personnel, Parents, Volunteers and collaborative partners.
• Conduct at least two home visits and two parent conferences, per child, within the allotted time period.
• Participate in Family Child Review meetings, Multidisciplinary Teams, Crisis Intervention teams, etc. as required
• Develop a daily schedule and weekly lesson plans based on observations, parental input, and developmentally appropriate practice.
• Develop goals utilizing the individualization form to meet each child’s developmental needs.
