About the role

The Lead Teacher role has the primary responsibility of ensuring the safety and well-being of all the children in their classroom. In addition, the Lead Teachers role is to support the mission and philosophy of the Center, provide a nurturing, consistent, developmentally appropriate environment that meets the cognitive, emotional, social and physical needs of young children, develop and maintain family relationships, collaborate with co-teaching team, and take part in continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all the children in their classroom.
  • Support the mission and philosophy of the Center.
  • Provide a nurturing, consistent, developmentally appropriate environment that meets the cognitive, emotional, social and physical needs of young children.
  • Develop and maintain family relationships.
  • Collaborate with co-teaching team.
  • Take part in continuous professional development.

Requirements

  • Certified by MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
  • Bachelor's degree or Associates Degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an early childhood setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work cooperatively and communicate well with others.
  • Reliable and conscientious.
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Kaymbu, COR Advantage).
  • Willingness to increase knowledge in the field.
  • Certificate of CPR and first aid training (recommended).
  • Organized, ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attentive to confidentiality of records and other information.
