Lead Teacher for Reading Instruction

About the role

The Lead Teacher for Reading Instruction will support, supplement, and extend classroom reading instruction, working collaboratively to implement a quality reading program that is research-based, data-driven, and meets the needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Support and supplement classroom reading instruction
• Work collaboratively to implement a quality reading program
• Assess the reading strengths and needs of students
• Develop, implement, and evaluate the literacy program
• Design instruction for individual students
• Collaborate with school administrators to ensure continuous improvement in reading assessment and instruction
• Guide the learning process toward closing achievement gaps in reading
• Analyze data and provide instructional plans of action to increase reading and comprehension levels
• Support teachers in developing their knowledge and skills to improve reading outcomes for students
• Participate in ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Experienced Educator License with Special Education endorsement
• Bachelor's Degree (Master’s Preferred) from an approved program
• Experience delivering direct reading instruction
• Knowledge of a variety of reading assessments and instructional tools

Benefits

• $70,000- $80,000 annually, based upon experience and education
• Full-time, 40 hour/week role
• Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm schedule
