Lead Teacher (Certified)

About the role

We are seeking dedicated educators to join our Early Childhood Education department in Chelsea and neighboring communities. Our program serves low-income children aged 2 to 4, implementing a curriculum that supports social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with classroom staff to ensure a safe and healthy classroom
• Supervise staff in the classroom including assistant teachers, aides, volunteers, and therapists
• Develop lesson plans aligned with the Creative Curriculum format and Common Core Standards
• Effectively communicate the development and progress of children with families using cultural sensitivity
• Identify children with disabilities and assist with referrals
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for children in your classroom, including assessing children, writing monthly observations, and conducting home visits
• Maintain and update classroom settings regularly
• Attend weekly teacher meetings, monthly in-service training, and other professional development training
• Follow governing agency guidelines including the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, Head Start, Administration for Children’s Services, and Universal Pre-Kindergarten
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Early Childhood (Birth-Grade 2); Nursery, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-6 (N-6); Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2)
• A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
• A Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and/or related field preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish/English, Mandarin/English, or Cantonese/English preferred
• A daily 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.
