Wilmington Preschool of the Arts is a licensed childcare center seeking Lead Teachers for toddler age groups.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- AA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or higher
- Ability to pass all background checks
- Previous childcare experience (preferred)
- Physical ability to work around small children, including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
Responsibilities
- Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans one week in advance using current curriculum guides
- Implement lesson plans and curriculum weekly, covering all areas of child development
- Carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule and daily routine
- Use the parent communication app efficiently
- Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each child, responding to emotional needs
- Maintain an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom
- Maintain child assessments and portfolios for each child
- Conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences in November and May
- Carry out daily classroom responsibilities relating to child care
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay
$16–$18/hour, based on education and experience
