About the role

Montclare Preschool is seeking a Lead Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a 10-month position with a start date of September 8th. Hours are 8 am–2 pm or 8 am–3 pm, five days per week. Additional salary can be earned by working the optional 6-week summer program.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment that helps children learn and grow.
• Develop engaging activities and lesson plans that foster the whole child concept and consider each child's individual needs.
• Collaborate with the teaching team on program development, planning, and implementation.
• Maintain children's developmental profiles and observe, collect, and record data for child assessments.
• Maintain healthy dialogue with the Education Director regarding classroom, students, parents, and general environment.
• Attend team meetings, staff meetings, and educational workshops as necessary.
• Demonstrate punctuality and reliability.

Requirements

• Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Certification in Early Childhood Education (can be in progress).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Pay

$50,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience, credentials, and hours.
