Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Create a safe, nurturing, and spiritually enriching learning environment for young children.
- Integrate faith-based principles into the curriculum, helping children grow in their understanding of Christian values and teachings.
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate and faith-centered curriculum.
- Oversight of classroom management.
- Guide support staff.
- Foster a love for learning while nurturing children's spiritual growth.
- Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers to support children’s development at home and in the classroom.
- Collaborate with staff members.
- Commitment to professional development.
- Dedication to a Christ-centered approach to education.

- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Technology skills.
- Able to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment.
- Able to create a warm and inviting environment that respects diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
- A deep understanding of whole child development and faith formation.
- Alignment and commitment to the mission, vision, and Soul Framework of Belmont University.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and adapting learning activities to meet individual children’s needs.
- Ability to model Christian values and mentor children in developing their spiritual lives.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations.
- Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
- Able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Required Education
- Must meet the minimum educational and experience requirements for Child Care Center teachers as mandated by state regulation.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE preferred.
- Currently holds or is eligible to hold Early Childhood Licensure in TN.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience preferred, preferably in a lead teaching role.
- 3 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting.
- Experience with the Creative Curriculum preferred.
- Experience with faith-based children’s programming preferred.
