Lead Systems Engineer

About the role

A fast-growing space technology company focused on orbital safety and space domain awareness is seeking a hands-on Lead Spacecraft Systems Engineer to drive the development of next-generation small satellites. You will have full ownership of spacecraft programs, from design through launch and on-orbit operations, leading a multidisciplinary team and ensuring mission success across rapid development cycles.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end spacecraft delivery and on-orbit performance
• Lead system architecture, integration, and technical budgets
• Manage design, build, test, and launch activities
• Build and lead a high-performing engineering team
• Drive rapid prototyping and iterative development approaches
• Conduct system trade studies and manage risk

Requirements

• 10+ years in aerospace or satellite systems
• Proven experience delivering small satellites to orbit
• Strong background in spacecraft systems engineering and integration
• Experience with environmental testing and launch operations
• Leadership experience in fast-paced engineering environments
• US citizenship, eligible for security clearance
