Lead Supply Technician
About the role
This position serves as the Lead Supply Technician (Medical) for the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) areas of Logistics Service. The Lead Supply Technician will ensure supplies and materials are distributed to all areas serviced by Logistics to provide wards - clinics - operating rooms - secondary storage locations - and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including but not limited to - sterile and non-sterile medical supplies - instrument sets - and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Distributing supplies and materials - including sterile and non-sterile medical supplies - instrument sets and equipment - to all areas of the facility;
- Scanning - bar-coding - receiving - storing and distribution of supplies and materials;
- Assists in training new employees;
- Maintains current knowledge and answers questions on procedures - policies - etc.;
- Maintains stock by pulling stock - replenishing stock - and maintaining records on stock levels;
- Monitors expiration dates and rotates stock;
- Cleans assigned areas in accordance with aseptic principles;
- Receives supplies and material into the facility.
Requirements
- To qualify for this position - applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement - 07/23/2026.
- Specialized experience: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge - skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position - and that is typically in or related to the work of this Lead Supply Technician position.
- Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The work requires standing and walking during the entire workday - frequent bending and lifting of supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds).
Qualifications

Skills
- Preferred experience includes working in a hospital - healthcare - or medical supply environment with responsibility for inventory management - supply distribution - and replenishment of clinical areas.
- Experience utilizing automated inventory system - maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring timely delivery of medical supplies to patient care units is highly desirable.
