About the role

We are seeking a Lead Substation Protection and Control Engineer to join our Substation Engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to lead and design high voltage utility substation projects, collaborate with other electric utility disciplines, and grow a diverse team of engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key contributor to the development of substation protection and control design projects
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters
  • Take complete ownership of each project, including management of financials, resources, and design
  • Liaison, lead, coordinate, and collaborate with external clients
  • Continually improve and maximize project quality
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with clients
  • Contribute to the definition of design scope, philosophies, and design methodologies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Eight (8+) years of direct experience in substation protection and control design

Qualifications

  • Ability to lead substation design projects by aligning engineering execution with program management

Skills

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Experience in substation physical design and field testing/commissioning

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $107,900.00 - $195,050.00 annually. Additional benefits include:

Schedule

This role offers a hybrid schedule with options to work either on-site or remotely. Remote work is available for 2-4 days per week, while on-site work is required for 1-3 days per week. The location is near Allentown, PA.
