Lead Substation Physical Engineer
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Lead Substation Physical Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will guide the physical design of substation projects from concept through completion, with a focus on technical accuracy, constructability, and client satisfaction. You will partner closely with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders to deliver well-coordinated design solutions that support reliable electrical infrastructure. The position also includes oversight of quality assurance reviews, design validation, and field-based data collection to ensure each package meets project and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of substation physical design projects, ensuring technical excellence.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external clients to deliver effective solutions.
- Perform QA/QC reviews on design packages for accuracy and compliance.
- Design and review substation drawings and layouts.
- Create and verify bills of materials for substation components.
- Conduct site visits for data collection and design validation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of substation physical design experience.
- Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred.
- Experience in grounding studies, lightning protection analysis, and lighting studies.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve engineering challenges.
- Competence with engineering tools and software.
- Highly organized and able to work under tight deadlines.

Pay
$107,900 – $195,050 annually
