About the role
Boeing Defense Space and Security is seeking a Lead Stress Engineer to join their Huntsville Design Center team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position is expected to be 100% onsite and requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which U.S. Citizenship is required. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required.
Responsibilities
- Stress analysis using manual calculations and finite element analysis
- Performing analysis to program and customer requirements and standards
- Leading analysis and documentation
- Working with other analysts and engineers to integrate analysis and results
- New product development, testing, and certification
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences)
- U.S. Citizenship (required for U.S. Security Clearance)
- 9+ years of experience performing stress analysis using manual calculations and finite element analysis
- 9+ years of experience working with aerospace industry specifications and standards, part and/or process requirements
- 3+ years of experience with metallic materials and metallic processes
- 1+ year of experience with fatigue and fracture analysis and test
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with testing, writing test plans, conducting tests, and writing test reports
- 5+ years of experience performing stress analysis for government and industry customers
- 5+ years of experience performing fracture analysis or damage tolerance analysis
- Aerospace and/or Mechanical Engineer degree
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. This position is for 1st shift and must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements (U.S. Person required).
Pay
- Lead Level 4: $126,650 - $171,350
- Lead Level 5: $154,700 - $209,300
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
